A St. Louis native, Jerry graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in political science. He holds insurance licenses in both property and casualty, and life and health, as well as earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. Jerry began his career in insurance in 1977, he most recently served as a division president and was part of the religious practices group for the third largest insurance broker in the United States. His current focus is on protecting churches through risk management, as he specializes in commercial insurance for non-profit and religious organizations. Jerry often speaks at national conferences and symposiums on the topic of church risk management, including a faith-based community safety and security symposium hosted by the Department of Homeland Security. His hard work and dedication has made him a trusted and knowledgeable advisor in the industry. Sparks is a member of Emmaus Church in Springfield, Missouri where he attends with his wife, Carolyn. When he's not in the office, you can find him working on his farm, enjoying the outdoors at the lake, or spending quality time with his family.
